PENANCE Necklace

PENANCE is the third of three chunky statement necklaces in the Vice collection, inspired by the darker side of religion; repentance and control. After making the freeform cross pendant, I wanted to make a chain that looks painful, like something that would be used as a punishment. This weave has always reminded me of barbed wire, so I learned to make it just for this piece. But despite its appearance, the chain is very soft and satisfying to hold (and to look at!).

This necklace is handmade from solid stainless steel rings, joined with a stainless steel lobster clasp. Stainless steel is rust-resistant and durable, making our chainmail pieces an everyday staple. PENANCE comes with a 5cm extender chain to cater for lengths 30-35cm (extra small) 35-40cm (small), 40cm-45cm (medium) and 45-50cm (large). Only one PENANCE necklace is available. If you would like a necklace which is shorter or longer than the lengths listed please contact us to discuss a custom order. Longer chains will incur an extra cost.
